Florida was discovered by Ponce de Leon 500 years ago. To celebrate this momentous anniversary, the Polk History Center has put together a Viva Florida 500 exhibit titled Spanish Pathways. A traveling exhibit, Florida Agriculture, is also on display. Both exhibits will be available to view at no charge through mid-August. The Polk History Center is located on Main Street in Bartow and is open Tuesday-Saturday. Admission is free.
